Lorna has had over 20 years working with young people in a large secondary school serving as both School Counsellor and Wellbeing Officer. She is well trained in safeguarding and has an OCN qualification in counselling.

Lorna has been hosting international students for over ten years and has been a key guardian with Sutherland Education for over four years. She is always available, as our homestay guardian advisor and a key guardian, to provide advice to homestay guardians, and students alike. Her great strengths lie in areas such as restorative justice and being peacemaker, diplomat, empathiser and guide. Lorna loves walking, travelling, reading, artwork, gardening and socialising – and, of course, her family (married for 30 years), and two cocker spaniels and three cats! Her daughter is currently studying for a PHD at Cambridge University.
