Letter to Parents

From Andrew Sutherland

Dear Parent

If I were sending my child to another country for his or her education I would have three essential requirements and, in order of priority, they are:

1. To be safe
2. To be happy
3. To be successful

In 1965, at the age of 18, I began to participate in my Mother’s guardianship association, Kith and Kind, founded at Bateman’s the home of Rudyard Kipling, the very famous English writer and poet.

A passion for internationalism, which our team at SE expresses in every element of care for students and which we all embrace as an ethos, has emanated from this long history of international student guardianship.

Trust is invaluable and paramount. It is our undertaking at SE to serve your and your child’s needs to meet the above requirements through personalized attention and good communication. At any time of day or night your child, and you too, will have access to our support through our immediate contact.

In these challenging times of globalisation we understand that you will have chosen a UK Independent School (or university) education to give your child the wonderful opportunity to enter a world that is changing faster than has ever before recorded in our history, fully equipped to cope and succeed. We see our role to be the overseer and catalyst acting on your family’s behalf to make sure this happens.

I do hope that we can have the opportunity to do this. You are warmly welcome to contact me or any member of the SE team any time to discuss your queries
